Enterprise Development
Start-up enterprise training is provided to aspiring entrepreneurs drawn from the local Victoria West community. Training and coaching are currently being conducted for beneficiary start-up companies as well as participants of Starter Pack Pro.
The following concepts, key themes, classroom activities and practical assignments were facilitated through the Starter Pack Enterprise Training Theory Learning Course:
- Formulation of strategic business documents with both vision and mission strategies.
- Formulation of a marketing strategies per business.
- Both entities underwent and completed their CIPC registrations, BEE Certificates and opened their business bank accounts.
- Drawing up of company organograms.
- Risks associated with SMME’s.
- Presentation skills.
- Report writing.
To date, start-up businesses entities have made vast strides in establishing their businesses and are ready to begin operating and providing services as business owners from the onset of February 2019.
Start-up businesses which successfully complete the training and who are selected as grant beneficiaries stand to get start-up assistance towards key resources based on initial needs.
The content these beneficiaries receive during training cover the following themes:
- Gathering and managing information for decision making
- Using language and communication strategies for vocational and occupation learning
- Developing a business plan for a small business
- Developing, implementing and evaluating a marketing strategy for a new venture
- Tendering to secure business for a new venture
- Managing finances in a small business
- Drafting an employment contract
- Applying innovative thinking to the development of a small business
Training for these enterprises commenced in February 2021.
